NBA DRAFT CENTER
UPDATED 2008 NBA MOCK DRAFT
Managing Editor: Skip Randall

1.) Michael Beasley
Ht/Wt: 6-9/220 lbs
Position: SF/PF
Drafted From: Kansas St.
*O what a combo KG and Beasley could have been. Then again, the T-Wolves would not be this pathetic if they still had him. Nonetheless, the T-Wolves are a lock for the top 4.
2.) O.J. Mayo
Ht/Wt: 6-5/195 lbs
Position: PG/SG
Drafted From: USC
*Anyone thinking Isiaih
will be around to take this pick???  Mayo coming to New York means Starbury is on way out.
3.) Derrick Rose
Ht/Wt: 6-3/180 lbs
Position: PG
Drafted From: Memphis
*BestProPicks.com
normally will not give high
grades for a Memphis
player given their high rate
of failure, but Rose is a
freak.  Rose has been
scouted by an Illinois High
School scout for
BestProPicks.com and
this scout give him such
high   This is same scout
who reported all those
years back regarding KG
coming from the Chicago
Public League
.
4.) DeAndre Jordan
Ht/Wt: 6-11/225 lbs
Position: PF/C
Drafted From: Texas A&M
*Moving up draft board with strong play early on
offensively, still looking to
get more comfortable
defensively.  Still jumping
too much and getting into
foul trouble.
5.) Eric Gordon
Ht/Wt: 6-3/190 lbs
Position: PG/SG
Drafted From: Indiana
*Gordon too has been
rising with strong start to
Big Ten season.  Such a
great athlete, he would fit
in great with young Sonics
core.  Gordon must prove
he can handle the point
guard.

6.) Chase Budinger
Ht/Wt: 6-7/190 lbs
Position: SG
Drafted From: Arizona

*This might be a little high
for Budinger, but
Clippers never draft well
anyways and  they need
help in the backcourt.  This
pick might be a good chip
in a trade.

7.) Darrell Arthur
Ht/Wt: 6-9/215 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: Kansas

*Getting better and better
with every game.
BestProPicks.com scouts
watched live his game
against the Boston

College Eagles
where
Arthur and the Jayhawks
were dominate.

8.) Kosta Koufos
Ht/Wt: 7-0/250 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Ohio State

*Chicago desperate to get
some low post scoring and
if Koufos enters he would
be perfect fit for Bulls.
Koufos had a fantastic
game against the defending
champs from Florida.

9.) John Riek
Ht/Wt: 7-2/229 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Sudan

*Doubtful MJ and company take this pick.  He knows his window of opportunity won't be open long in Charlotte.  Nice looking women he has been
spotted with lately too.

10.) Jerryd Bayless
Ht/Wt: 6-2/182 lbs
Position: PG
Drafted From: Arizona

*This pick ends the Bibby
era
in Sacramento.
Bayless gets moving up
our board and the high is
the limit for him.  True
point guards are back in
vague.

(From Atlanta)

11.) Nicolas Batum

Ht/Wt: 6-7/185 lbs
Position: SF
Drafted From: France

*This pick is getting worse
by the day for the Suns.
Looking back, the Joe

Johnson
trade might have
been the one move that
cost this team a
championship.

12.) Blake Griffin
Ht/Wt: 6-9/255 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: Oklahoma

*Griffin has been rising
through our draft board
since the beginning of
summer workouts.  The
former McDonald's

All-American
and
Powerade Jam Slam
champion is not
disappointing us either.
Might stay for sophomore
season and be top 3 pick
next season.

13.) Darrell Arthur
Ht/Wt: 6-9/215 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: Kansas

*Arthur would be perfect
fit for Wizards.  Athletic big
man performed well for our
scouts that were watching
live his recent game
against Boston College.

14.) Tywon Lawson
Ht/Wt: 6-0/175 lbs
Position: PG
Drafted From: North
Carolina

*Larry Bird going on hot
seat now that his former
team turned around their
franchise with two moves.
Likely this pick will be part
of some trade.

15.) Brook Lopez
Ht/Wt: 7-0/245 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Stanford

*Rockets still needing help
in front court.  Might be
worth the risk to explore
putting another 7-footer
next to Yao and try to
actually play defense again
in the West.

16.) Donte Greene
Ht/Wt: 6-10/230 lbs
Position: SF
Drafted From: Syracuse

*Greene has all the tools,
now it's time to put
everything together and
stay on the court.  Reaches
to much on defense and
fails to communicate on
court.

17.) Danilo Gallinari
Ht/Wt: 6-9/209 lbs
Position: SF
Drafted From: Armani
Jeans Milano

*We had him going higher
before the season, and he
remains a wild card.
Terrific shooter and smart
player but reminds us too
much of Wally to rate him
higher at this point.

18.) Darren Collison
Ht/Wt: 6-1/165 lbs
Position: PG
Drafted From: UCLA

*Someone has to get
LeBron a couple more easy
baskets.  Collison is
terrific floor general with
all the tools to be fine NBA
point guard.  Needs to
continue to develop better
3-point %.

19.) Serge Ibaka
Ht/Wt: 6-10/220 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: CB
L'Hospitalet

One of the best leapers to
enter draft since Tyrus

Thomas
.  Has one of the
best vertical leaps for big
man that we have ever
seen.  Congo has received
a bad rap lately, due largely
to draft busts.

20.) Kevin Love
Ht/Wt: 6-9/255 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: UCLA

*Not sure Love will come
out just yet due to the
strength of this year's
class.  Still one of the best
passing big men in all of
college basketball.

21.) J.J. Hickson
Ht/Wt: 6-9 /240 lbs
Position:PF
Drafted From:NC State

*Another big man to help
Howard would be a
blessing.  He can't do it
alone under the boards,
and a big man like
Hickson would be nice
bruiser to lineup with.

22.)  D.J. Augustin
Ht/Wt: 5-11/180 lbs
Position: PG
Drafted From: Texas

*Likely the best pure point
guard in NCAA, but his
size makes it too hard to
rate him higher.  Has a
hard time finishing near
the basketball.

23.)  Jamont Gordon
Ht/Wt: 6-3/225 lbs
Position: SG
Drafted From: Mississippi
St.

*Give Chris Paul another
weapon.  Hornets would be
get fit for Gordon, who can
light it up from anywhere
on the court.  Undersized
frame might prevent
someone from taking him
in first round.

24.)  Omri Casspi
Ht/Wt: 6-8/220 lbs
Position: SF/PF
Drafted From: Maccabi Tel
Aviv, International

*Nice shooter to put along
Roy and company.  This
team continues to make
believers out of their
critics.  Israeli sharp
shooter who is draining
nearly 50% of his attempts
from behind the
three-point arc.

25.)  DeVon Hardin
Ht/Wt: 6-11/225 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: California

*Denver seemingly is
always looking for a big
man to help Melo and
company.  This might be
year when they finally give
up on Camby.

26.) Hasheem Thabeet
Ht/Wt: 7-2/260 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Connecticut

*Another big man taking a
big dive in our board.  Still
learning the game of
basketball and it shows
most of the time.  Getting
to be more confident with
the ball in his hands is
priority number one of this
young man.

27.)  Ante Tomic
Ht/Wt: 7-2/240 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Croatia

*Tried to enter draft last
season but was held up
due to contract problems.
Projected still this season
though as possible late
first round attraction.

(From Phoenix)

28.) Brandon Rush
Ht/lks: 6-6/200 lbs
Position: SG/SF
Drafted From: Kansas

*Tough for most to really
appreciate this kid's talent
because of his incredible
supporting cast, but this
kid can knock down shots.  Could move up of course
with strong tourney run.

29.) Roy Hibbert
Ht/Wt: 7-2/265 lbs
Position: C
Drafted From: Georgetown

*Another prospect who is
slipping by the day.  Once
considered a lock for the
lottery, now he is lucky to
keep his first round status.

30.)  Taj Gibson
Ht/Wt: 6-9/210 lbs
Position: PF
Drafted From: USC

*Boston cruising right now.
Looking ahead, maybe they need to add more muscle off the bench to take
pressure of KG.  Gibson
was rated higher before the
season, but it looks like he
has reached his ceiling.
